Definitly one of the most beautiful hiking routes at the Sierra Blanca, with stunning views to the Sierra Canucha and to the Torrecilla, the highest peak of the Sierra de las Nieves, a great variation of landscapes, vegetation and geology. Our path starts at about 800m of altitude and leads steadily uphill in serpentines, with rosemary, thyme and many flowers along the path, overlooking the Mediteranean Sea, and around to the other side of the mountain, to a pass just over 1000m. Once we reach the pass, we follow a pleasant, relatively flat trail, that winds along the ridge, passing a small Pinsapo Forest, a special type of tree that only grows in Andalucía and in the Rif-mountains of Morokko. The second part of the walk leads us to a totally different geological scenery, the Viborilla is surprising and very unique shaped rock-formation. From there we walk down to a deep pine forest, an olive grove and a Eucalyptus forest, back to our starting point.
