Acedía - Pasada del Pino - Circular hike

Circular hike from the Acedía Valley up a path through the typical dark rock of the Sierra Bermeja, to the Pasada del Pino, and back along a dirt track, passing one of the feeding places for griffon vultures
Our hike begins in a lovely valley with large estates, cork oaks and pine trees. From a pass with views of the coast, we climb up a stony path to a forest track that leads us to the bed of the Garganta de Acedía river. The view from up there is marvellous, on one side we can see the summit of the Sierra Bermeja (red mountains), and in front of us the coast, the Strait of Gibraltar and parts of the Rif Mountains of Morocco. On the way back along a forest track, we pass one of the feeding areas set up by the Andalusian regional government for griffon vultures. Although the feeding sites are rarely supplied, the chance of seeing griffon vultures in the area is very high.
