The Pinsapo forest of Grazalema

A hike from Grazalema to Benamahoma through the fascinating beautiful Pinsapo forest
The nature park "Pinsapar de Grazalema" is one of the most important nature reserves in Andalusia, it not only houses one of the three Pinsapo-forests of Spain, but also surprised by a variety of other plants, bizarre rock formations and breathtaking views.
Our route starts in Grazalema, an ideal starting point for many beautiful walks, and leads high up into the Pinsapo-forest. The Pinsapo tree, also called Spanish fir, a botanical rarity is found only in western Andalusia and the Riff mountains of Morocco. The endpoint of the walk is the equally picturesque village of Benamahoma. The beginning is a bit of a climb, but not too long and absolutely worth the effort.
