Hilltop villages in the Ronda Mountains - in Chestnut Flower Season

Circular route through chestnut forests, with amazing views to the mountains and villages
This hike is fantastically beautiful, especially in june, when the chestnut trees are flowering and in autumn, when they change color.
The typical mountain villages of Parauta and Igualeja lie approx. 800m above sea level in the Ronda Mountains, between the National Park of Sierra de las Nieves and the Genal valley. The remote villages preserve their traditions and like to tell their legends to the hiker with a glass of wine.
We walk through chestnut forests, from Igualeja to Parauta and back a different way. In Parauta we may have lunch in a lovely village restaurant before walking back to Igualeja
