Manilva - Reservoir and archaeological site of Castillejos de Alcorrín
A walk to a small reservoir and a very unknown part of Manilva. From the archaeological site of Los Castillejos de Alcorrín you have a very nice view over the coast and the mountains
This walk, so close to the coast and its urbanizations, will surprise you with its landscapes and partly very lush vegetation, unusual for this area. From a small hidden reservoir with clean river water, on a small path along the river and across, we hike up to the plateau of "Los Castillejos", a phoenician fortified settlement from the first millennium BC. We can`t see much of the ruins anymore, they were only discovered about a decade ago. For some years a group of archeologist did some investigation and later on covered them again for protection. The reason to go up there is not the ruins, but the amazing views all around and it is still an interesting place, representing the diversity of vegetation as well as the surprising history of our region.
Before going back we can stop at a local Chiringuito (beach bar)
