Sierra de las Nieves - Cerro de la Sardina - Carboneras River
On this circular route through the Sierra de las Nieves we climb the Cerro de la Sardina, with its wonderful views of Ronda, explore the old cortijo de los Carboneros and the pools and waterfalls of the stream
In the Sierra de las Nieves, the new national park of Andalusia, there are many abandoned farms, the hard life in the mountains and the loneliness of the farms without roads and infrastructure are a thing of the past. Many legends and ruins of times gone by have been left behind. We start our route from the entrance of the park to the pass and the Cerro de la Sardina, with a fantastic view of the city of Ronda. The ruins of the Cortijo de las Carboneras, where the charcoal burners worked and lived in former times, are located on the banks of the stream of the same name. We follow the course of the stream back to our starting point.
