Casares, from the Roman Bath
From the Roman baths to Casares, one of the most picturesque white village of Andalusia
The hike begins at the Roman Bath, a freely accessible sulphur spring that invites you to a rather smelly but healing bath in the middle of nature. Julius Caesar is said to have bathed here!
Our path continues up along a gorge characterised by karstic rock formations, past old mills in the river valley, up to the famous white village of Casares and up to the castle ruins, with a fantastic view over the coast. At the village square, we can then fortify ourselves with tapas and observe the serenity of the village life with a glass of Spanish wine. (This hike is linear, optionally it can also be offered with a return hike, about 2 hours more).
