Grazalema - flowering meadows, river valley and mountains
The Grazalema mountains are one of the most famous and impressive hiking areas in Andalusia. Hike along the "Arroyo del Campobuches" river and back along forest paths with wonderful views
Our hike begins outside the picturesque village of Grazalema, which is surrounded by mountains, at a huge old oak tree, the "Chaparro de las Ánimas". We follow the riverbed of the Arroyo Campobuch, a beautiful path through meadows and forests. In spring, the river is covered with the white flowers of the aquatic plant "Ranunculus Peltatus" (pond water-crowfoot), a spectacular sight! The way back along forest roads and paths has a little more altitude to overcome, but we can enjoy a wonderful view.
At the end of the hike, we visit the village of Grazalema and can enjoy tapas on the picturesque village square in front of the church.
